1.1 Overview In the inverter speed regulation system, the basic method of speed regulation is to achieve it by changing the given frequency. In many current applications, due to the large inertia of the drive system and the process requirements for the motor to quickly slow down or stop, the following phenomena will occur: the motor will have negative torque, the motor is in a braking state, and the mechanical energy of the drive system is quickly fed back to the DC bus, causing it to rise rapidly. The inverter cannot complete the braking process due to the high bus voltage. Therefore, the feedback energy must be consumed quickly to keep the DC bus voltage below a certain safety range, otherwise the inverter will cause overvoltage protection or fault detection failure.
