This reference design demonstrates the implementation of a low-power wireless motion detector using nanopower op amps, comparators, and the Sub-1GHz SimpleLink™ ultra-low-power wireless microcontroller (MCU) platform. These techniques enable extremely long battery life: a standard CR2032 Li-ion coin cell battery lasts more than 10 years, and can be used in applications including motion detection or lighting control and occupancy detection. The PIR sensor has a sensitivity of up to 30 feet and a standby current of 1.75µA. The design guide includes system design techniques, detailed test results, and information to get started and accelerate your design.
