Calculation and suppression analysis of voltage fluctuations of typical loads in metallurgical enterprises [Abstract] When steelmaking arc furnaces, rolling mills, resistance welding machines, and high-voltage motors are started, they will have adverse effects on the power grid such as voltage fluctuations. Based on the actual projects, this article analyzes in detail the calculation methods and suppression measures of voltage fluctuations of these four typical metallurgical loads, and points out that SVC is one of the most widely used, most effective and most economical measures to suppress its adverse effects at this stage; the article also combines the technological development of processes and steelmaking to explain that measures such as improving arc furnace steelmaking processes, optimizing arc furnace design parameters, reasonably selecting power supplies and improving arc furnace power supply equipment can reduce the adverse effects of arc furnaces. The article also summarizes the new technology of harmonic control and reactive power comprehensive compensation - static compensators and active filters for distribution, in order to form a complete concept of comprehensive compensation for typical loads of metallurgical power grids, and fully understand its protection methods and suppression measures and their future development trends, so as to facilitate the application and promotion of new technologies.
