This paper introduces and compares different graphical user interfaces (GUIs) based on embedded Linux systems. Based on the working principle of Emap, this paper proposes an implementation model for running Emap on a handheld PDA under an embedded Linux system, which has strong practical value. With the continuous development of 3S (GIS, GPS, RS) technology, new terms such as digital earth, digital city, PDA, etc. have gradually entered people\'s daily lives. Products and equipment with electronic maps and electronic navigation as their functional features have also sprung up like mushrooms after rain, from professional applications to consumer electronic products for people\'s daily use. As a typical representative of the development of computers towards miniaturization, PDA has become a natural thing to integrate electronic navigation software on this newly emerging embedded system. There are many PDAs with electronic maps and electronic navigation functions on the market, each with its own characteristics and varieties, but the implementation mechanisms are also very different. From the perspective of software platforms, their operating systems are mainly the following: Microsoft Windows CE and Palm OS. However, there are relatively few PDAs running Linux.
