The MAX14606/MAX14607 overvoltage protectors feature internal FETs with low on-resistance (RON) of 54mΩ (typ) to provide fault protection up to +36V for low-voltage systems. When the input voltage exceeds the overvoltage threshold, the internal FET turns off to prevent damage to the protected component. The devices automatically select the precise internal overvoltage fault trip threshold, and the internal OVLO is preset to a typical value of 5.87V (MAX14606) or 6.8V (MAX14607). The MAX14606/MAX14607 feature reverse bias protection. Unlike other overvoltage protectors, when the MAX14606/MAX14607 is off, the voltage applied to OUT is not fed back to IN. These devices also feature thermal shutdown to prevent overcurrent. The MAX14606/MAX14607 operate over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range and are available in a 9-bump WLP package.
