In order to detect image edges at high speed and high quality, a new edge detection method based on B-spline interpolation is proposed. This method adopts the cubic B-spline interpolation principle to interpolate the grayscale values of the image pixels, proposes the first-order and second-order differential operators based on B-spline interpolation, and introduces digital filtering technology to implement it. The separable characteristics of B-spline are also used to realize the reconstruction function of continuous images based on B-spline interpolation in 2D space. On this basis, the first-order differential template and second-order differential template based on cubic B-spline for edge detection are proposed. A real-time image processing and display system based on DSP+FPGA is designed.
