The ADS1210 is a 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter.This application bulletin provides examples of howto interface the ADS1210 with an Intel 8xC51microcontroller. The converter can be operated with theserial data clock SCLK, generated by itself or providedexternally, such as by an 8xC51. The ADS1210 supports SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface) interfacing and SSI (SynchronizedSerial Interface) interfacing. This bulletin focuses oninterfacing the ADS1210 to an 8xC51, which provides thesynchronous SCLK signal. The schematic and 8xC51 assemblycode are provided for both of the interface protocols.
