The working principle of the serial analog-to-digital conversion chip MAX186 of MAXIM and the multi-channel buffered serial port (McBSP) of TI\'s TMS320C6711 DSP is introduced. The SPI (Series Protocol Interface) working mode of McBSP is adopted to directly connect McBSP with MAX186, thus a data acquisition and signal processing system based on the DSP multi-function buffered serial port is constructed. The interface circuit and software programming implementation of MIX186 and TMS320C6711 McBSP are given. Taking TI\'s DSP chip TMS320C6711 and serial data acquisition chip MAX186 as examples, this paper introduces the design method of an embedded data acquisition system based on the McBSP interface of DSP. TMS320C6711 is a 32-bit floating-point signal processor with a core voltage of 1.8V and an operating frequency of 100-150MHz. Its multi-channel buffered serial port (McBSP) can not only complete the full-duplex serial communication of the standard serial port, but also has the functions of supporting SPI devices and up to 128 channels of data transmission and reception. Connecting McBSP directly to the serial data output interface of MAX186 can provide the system with high-performance data acquisition capabilities. MAX186 is a 12-bit 8-channel single-ended/4-channel differential analog input ADC with a maximum sampling frequency of 130kHz. It has the characteristics of high throughput, low power consumption, and high precision. It is very suitable for small-sized mobile application devices with strict power consumption requirements, such as portable industrial measurement, medical instruments, etc.
