This paper introduces a method of implementing a fiber bypass protector using an MSP430 microcontroller. Precision optical components and control circuits are used in the hardware design to achieve seamless switching of optical paths. The TCP/IP protocol is embedded in the MSP430 microcontroller, and the Ethernet control chip CS8900A is used to enable the microcontroller to transmit data through Ethernet. The MCU monitors the heartbeat signal sent by the firewall in real time. When the firewall is abnormal, the bypass device switches the optical path to bypass the firewall, thereby ensuring smooth network operation.
