Using IP load balancing technology in LVS to establish scalable network services

Starting from the general architecture of LVS, the working principle of IPVS software is analyzed, and three IP load balancing technologies are discussed; based on the analysis of the shortcomings of the network address translation method (VS/NAT) and the asymmetry of network services, the method of implementing virtual servers through IP tunnels, VS/TUN, and the method of implementing virtual servers through direct routing, VS/DR, are given, which greatly improve the scalability of the system. This technology has practical application value and guiding significance for establishing and maintaining large-scale network services.
