The recent product announcements for the ZBT family ofsynchronous memories have received a warm reception witha wide range of customers. The ability to performback–to–back read/write cycles without any intermediatedeselect cycles offers a substantial performanceimprovement for a variety of platforms which now utilizestandard BurstRAMs. This application note describes someof the footprint changes required to adapt a currentBurstRAM socket to a ZBT device. In addition, some of theoperational differences are also discussed.
