The first solar cell to come out was a single-crystal silicon solar cell. Silicon is an extremely abundant element on Earth. It is found almost everywhere and is inexhaustible. There is no shortage of raw materials for making solar cells with silicon. However, it is not easy to refine it. Therefore, while producing single-crystal silicon solar cells, people also studied polycrystalline silicon solar cells and amorphous silicon solar cells. So far, solar cells produced on a commercial scale have not yet jumped out of the silicon series.
