The design of secondary optical elements of LED is crucial to the light distribution and optical output efficiency of LED street lamps. Good road lighting requires that the light distribution of LED street lamps is a rectangular light type, and all the light emitted by the street lamps can just cover the road, and the light pollution outside the road is almost zero. The use of asymmetric free-form surface secondary optical elements can make the rectangular light distribution of LED street lamps directly realized on a single LED module. The overall street lamp only needs to arrange these LED module arrays in the same direction, which can simplify the design of street lamp structure, heat dissipation and control power supply. This article introduces the secondary optical design of LED street lamps and a design method of free-form surface secondary optical lenses for LED street lamps.
