Microstrip Antenna Design Microstrip Antenna Design————Practical Design Part Class: Mixed Class 007 Student Number: 3003001145 Name: Han Xinzi This time my special research is based on microstrip antennas. The theoretical part mainly introduces the radiation principle of microstrip antennas, the advantages and disadvantages of microstrip antennas and their applications, the basic parameters of antennas, the analysis method of microstrip antennas and the practical steps of rectangular and circular microstrip antennas. \"See the paper report part\" This part is the design part. First, according to the design method given in the theoretical report, I actually designed a rectangular and circular microstrip antenna, and used ADS and SONNET software to simulate its directivity coefficient, gain, efficiency, bandwidth, and current distribution. Then I simulated a microstrip antenna design example given in a paper on IEEE. Finally, I made several circular and semicircular microstrip antennas and compared the effects of different feeding methods on various indicators of wires. Let me explain them separately below. 1. Rectangular microstrip antenna design Antenna operating frequency: 2GHz. Dielectric substrate parameters: ε=2.32, h=1.59mm. According to the data given in the theoretical report, the radiating element of the rectangular microstrip antenna is 58.2mm long and 48.5mm wide. Add a feed line with a length of 10mm and a width of 4.82mm. As shown in the figure below: [pic] The S11 parameters, gain, directivity coefficient and efficiency are simulated using ADS software as follows: [pic][pic][pic][pic] Because the simulation speed of ADS software is slow, it is very inconvenient to simulate the bandwidth in antenna design, so I used SONNET software to simulate its bandwidth and surface current distribution. As shown below: [pic][pic][pic] According to the S11 parameters, it can be seen that the antenna has not reached the matching state, so it is matched now. Make the value of the S11 parameter located in the center of the circular graph. The process is as follows: [pic][pic][pic][pic][pic][pic][pic]……
