In medical images, the steep change of image frequency in a relatively small area reflects the edge information of the target object. The gradient vector operation based on the Sobel operator has a good effect on the edge extraction of low-noise medical images. The JAI function provided by Java technology can easily realize the edge detection of forensic spleen cell images. The experimental results show that the edges in the image can be effectively detected. In medical image processing technology, edge detection technology is widely used in edge detection of lesions or tissues. It is the basis of image processing technologies such as image measurement, image segmentation, image compression and pattern recognition. The edge detection technology mainly includes Roberts edge detection operator, Soble edge detection operator, Prewitt edge detection operator, Prewitt & Chen edge detection operator [3][4] and Canny edge detection operator [6]. These detection technologies have their own advantages and disadvantages and are suitable for different occasions [5]. Among them, the edge detection of the Sobel operator has a better effect on grayscale gradient and low-noise image processing. There are a large number of literatures that provide detailed introductions to the implementation of edge detection technology. It can be implemented in different programming languages, including Visual Basic 6.0 programming language [1], Visual C++ 6.0 programming language [2], Matlab, etc. However, there are relatively few literatures that use Java language for implementation. Java programming language is currently the mainstream programming language and is cross-platform. This paper uses the Sobel operator as the edge detection method and introduces the use of the JAI function provided by Java language to implement edge detection of spleen cell images in forensic spleen cell sections.
