Based on the intelligent control concept, an advanced adaptive PID controller is designed and implemented. The controller consists of a model identification unit, a control parameter setting unit and a PID control unit, and has the functions of automatically selecting control actions, control laws, control parameters and correcting models. When the system is stable, a step signal is applied to measure the step response of the system and determine the process model of the system. Then, the control action, control law and optimal adjustment parameters of the system are determined based on this. When the system setting value changes, the least squares method is used to correct the process model of the system. The experimental results show that the adaptive PID controller has good control performance.
