Design and parameter selection of soft-switching arc welding power supply

Abstract: According to the main circuit principle of the new LCL resonant soft-switching arc welding inverter power supply, this arc welding power supply is designed, and the main parameters in the circuit are determined. The contents include: calculation of the inverter power supply output current Io and no-load voltage, parameter selection of series resonant inductor Ls, capacitor Cs, and parameter selection of IGBT buffer capacitor. According to the designed power supply parameters, the developed welding power supply is tested. The test shows that the power supply can achieve soft switching well. This proves that the design is reasonable and effective. Keywords: resonant soft switching; arc welding inverter; power supply design; parameter selection
