Abstract: This paper introduces a MATLAB matrix decomposition algorithm for solving the initial boundary value problem of TM waves in two-dimensional photonic crystals. The algorithm first uses the absolutely stable classical implicit difference method to express the TM wave as a matrix model, and then uses leapfrog sampling to separate the matrix equations of the magnetic field component and the electric field component. The solution can be completed by calling the MATLAB matrix left division command. This method has the characteristics of simple concept, easy use and strong practicality. [Author Abstract]
