Introduction: In view of the fact that current information retrieval systems mostly improve the accuracy of retrieval from the retrieval model and information processing process, and do not pay more attention to users, this paper proposes an information retrieval system based on user personalization, and gives its theoretical model and detailed architecture. It combines the interests of users in the search process through Agent technology, so as to give more accurate results required by users. \"Personalization\" means putting users first, truly \"analyzing and understanding\" user needs according to user background, avoiding the situation that users with different backgrounds use the same questions to query, and the results obtained are the same, and the same users use the same queries at different times, and the results obtained are basically the same. This paper first studies and analyzes the current development status and working mechanism of search engines, points out its evaluation criteria and research focus and shortcomings, and then proposes a personalized search engine system on this basis, analyzes the theoretical basis and technology used by personalized search engines, and analyzes the differences between personalized search engines and current search engines in retrieval technology and indexing, so as to illustrate the advantages of personalized search engines. At the same time, this paper explores several modes of implementing personalized search engines with Agent, and finally uses Java for practical programming. In the process of practice, in order to reflect \"personalization\", this system has established a user model to record and manage user information, and has provided user interest learning and user interest judgment algorithms and user main information file storage structure. At the interface, users can personally modify their own interest library, and can evaluate the search results to adjust their interest, which improves the interaction between users and the system; they can use simple natural language search, avoiding cumbersome search syntax and rules, and improving the usability of the system. Agent technology is used for user queries and feedback. It can intelligently learn and judge the user\'s interests, and actively give users feedback in the form of E-mail, which improves the relevance between users and search results. This personalized search engine can greatly improve the accuracy of the search, give users more accurate personalized results, and make information retrieval on the Internet more convenient and accurate.
