8 MW, 10 kHz pulse generator based on semiconductor circuit breakers: The power device semiconductor circuit breakers have the ability to work at high repetition frequencies. A pulse generator with an operating frequency of 10 kHz was established by using high-speed insulated gate bipolar transistor components as the main switch of the primary charging circuit. The pulse generator uses solid-state devices such as magnetic saturation pulse transformers, magnetic switches, and high-voltage pulse capacitor groups for two-stage pulse compression to generate current pulses less than 100 ns, which pump the semiconductor circuit breakers. The semiconductor circuit breakers reversely cut off the pump current to generate high-voltage pulse output on the load. The experimental device obtained a high-voltage pulse output with a pulse output power of about 8.6 MW, a pulse width of about 10 ns, and a repetition frequency of 10 kHz on a resistive load.
