Design and implementation of a massive email distributed file system

This paper studies and designs a distributed file system for storing massive emails by summarizing and analyzing the existing distributed system architecture. Inspired by the Google File System architecture, a solution of multiple metadata servers is proposed to address the bottleneck problem caused by a single metadata server. In view of the particularity of the email writing format and the diversity of data sources, the writing support of the same interface of multiple data sources is designed and implemented, and the format of the written file is compressed and the sync field is added, so that the entire system has better I/O performance and better data integrity.
