The transmission rate of my country\'s backbone communication network has developed towards 40 GB/s or even 160 GB/s, and the transmission line uses optical fiber as the main transmission channel. The loss associated with optical fiber and the main dispersion of single-mode optical fiber, namely polarization mode dispersion, not only limit the transmission distance of optical signals during communication, but also greatly affect its communication capacity. Among them, the impact of polarization mode dispersion on high-speed and long-distance communication of single-mode optical fiber is particularly prominent. Therefore, in response to the needs of the rapid development of modern optical fiber communication technology networks, the current popular FPGA technology is applied to the adaptive compensation technology of polarization mode dispersion of single-mode optical fiber, and implemented with hardware description language, which can greatly improve the requirements of real-time and stability of adaptive compensation of polarization mode dispersion of optical fiber.
