The ship navigation data converter designed in this paper can output two signals, gyrocompass and GPS, based on only one type of navigation data after data conversion, to ensure the normal operation of the gyrocompass and GPS devices. The converter signals are received and sent through different serial ports, so it is necessary to expand the serial port to solve the problem of too few serial ports. By comparing and analyzing several commonly used serial port expansion schemes, this paper proposes a low-cost solution that uses P89C669 as the main processor for data conversion and AT89C2051 as the serial port expansion chip to realize the function of using the parallel port to expand the serial port. Due to factors such as the difference in the strength of the received signal and the difference in the use of equipment, problems such as unstable signals and output interruptions will occur during the ship navigation process, which brings great inconvenience to the ship navigation. Gyrocompass and GPS are commonly used navigation devices on ocean-going ships. The reasonable use of these two devices can effectively increase the reliability of navigation. In order to realize the coordinated use of gyrocompass and GPS, a new type of ship navigation data converter is designed using a single-chip microcomputer [1]. When there is only one reliable navigation data, the converter can convert the two data formats in real time to ensure the normal operation of the gyrocompass and GPS equipment and provide reliable navigation for ship navigation.
