The existing face recognition method based on contour lines is improved. PCA is used to automatically determine the longitudinal direction of the face at any position on the face, and the grid registration method is used to extract the symmetric planes and symmetric contour lines. By calculating the curvature on the symmetric contour line, the other three horizontal contour lines are extracted. The four extracted contour lines are resampled and normalized, and the valuable part of the contour line is intercepted as the input of the ICP algorithm for face recognition. Experiments have shown that the algorithm has increased the face recognition rate from the original 86.5% to 94%, reducing the misrecognition rate.
