Research progress of iron-based electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries

Abstract: Iron-based materials are environmentally friendly, low-priced, safe, and have excellent electrochemical properties. They have become a research hotspot in recent years. This paper reviews the current status of iron-based materials used for positive and negative electrodes of lithium-ion batteries. And prospects for these materials are given. Among them, LiFePO4 has excellent properties and will be the most promising positive electrode material. With further research, other iron-based materials will also show broader application prospects due to their low price. Keywords: lithium-ion battery; iron-based; research progress
