Abstract: This paper introduces an ultrasonic ranging system based on the LPC2134 microcontroller, which integrates variable gain and temperature compensation. The least mean square time delay estimation (LMSTDE) algorithm is used on the ARM hardware platform to process the collected echoes digitally, so as to improve the accuracy and adaptability of the ultrasonic ranging system. The hardware principle circuit and main software design ideas of this ranging system are given. Experiments show that the system has a high resolution.
