A streaming media data distribution algorithm based on peer-to-peer network (DA2SMp2p) is proposed. It can dynamically adjust data distribution according to changes in the network environment. When the providing node fails midway, it can maintain better streaming media continuity than the MBDAp2p algorithm, OTSp2p algorithm and Algorithm_1 algorithm. When the providing node does not fail, the segment buffering delay achieved is the same as the MBDAp2p algorithm, which is smaller than the OTSp2p algorithm and Algorithm_1 algorithm. The DA2SMp2p algorithm, MBDAp2p algorithm and OTSp2p algorithm have the same minimum buffering delay for continuous playback, which is smaller than the Algorithm_1 algorithm. Keywords: streaming media; peer-to-peer network; buffering delay; data distribution
