Binary-octahedral hexadecimal counter (presettable) 54197/7419754S197/74S19754LS197/74LS197 Brief Description 197 is a presettable binary-octahedral hexadecimal counter. There are three line structures: 54/74197, 54/74S197, and 54/74LS197. The typical values of their main electrical characteristics are as follows: Model fc PD54197/74197 70MHz 240mW54S197/74S197 140 MHz 375 mW54LS197/74LS197 40 MHz 80 mW When the asynchronous clear terminal (CR) is at a low level, the clear function can be completed regardless of the state of the clock terminal (0 CP, 1 CP). When the count/put control (CT/LD) is low, the preset function can be completed regardless of the state of the clock terminal (0 CP, 1 CP). When (CT/LD) is high, the counting operation is performed under the action of the falling edge of the (0 CP, 1 CP) pulse: a) Connect 1 CP to Q0, the counting pulse is input by 0 CP, and Q0, Q1, Q2, Q3 are divided by 2, 4, 8, and 16 respectively. b) The counting pulse is input by 1 CP, and Q1, Q2, Q3 are divided by 2, 4, and 8 respectively. Q0 can be used independently. 197 can also be used as a 4-bit latch, in which case CT/LD is used as the selection terminal. When CT/LD is low, Q0~Q3 changes with D0~D3; when CT/LD is high, Q0~Q3 will remain unchanged as long as the clock is not working. The pin arrangement and functions of 54(74)197 and 54(74)177 are the same, the difference lies in the speed-power consumption value.
