The power-assistance characteristics of the electric power steering system (EPS) are nonlinear. The nonlinear approximation characteristics of the BP network are used to fit the electric power-assistance characteristic curve, thereby overcoming the electric power-assistance blind spot. In addition, in view of the defects of the traditional PID controller, a PID controller based on the BP algorithm is proposed to achieve the optimal adjustment of the PID controller parameters; and this PID controller adjusted by the BP network is successfully applied in the electric power steering system.
