Cryogenic Thermistor
The DC95/EC95 NTC thermistors are manufactured using proven materials and techniques, making it possible to obtain close
tolerances and resistance-temperature curve tracking at a low cost. The result is a rugged, stable, easy to handle device. All
DC95/EC95 thermistors are epoxy coated for stability and have a maximum diameter of 0.095". Each unit tracks a specified
curve to within ±0.1¡C or ±0.2¡C over the temperature range of 0¡C to 70¡C. The DC95/EC95 thermistors have higher
dissipation constants than glass-coated beads or probe-style thermistors and therefore can be used in circuits of moderate
power levels. The thermal time constant of chip-style thermistors is comparable to that of large glass probes. This series chip
thermistor is especially suitable for disposable and permanent medical product usage, as well as energy management systems,
appliances, industrial equipment and automotive applications.
Maximum Power Level:
0.075 watt at 25¡C (derating to zero
watt at 100¡C).
Dissipation Constant In Still Air:
1 mW/¡C.
Thermal Time Constant In Still Air:
10 sec. Although suitable for
applications in the temperature range of Ð80¡C to +150¡C, best stability is achieved at temperatures not exceeding 105¡C.
Additional temperature ranges are available as special order items. Narrower temperature ranges may be specified for effective
cost savings or to accomplish even tighter curve tracking tolerances as special order items. They are available in a large variety
of sensor configurations, housings, enclosures and mountings as special order items. Quantity price breaks are available.

ThermometricÕs cryogenic thermistors are extremely useful for liquid level detection in various cryogenic liquids. In this
application, the thermistor is slightly self-heated by passing a small current through the unit. The heat generated in the
unit is more easily dissipated when the thermistor is immersed in cryogenic fluid than when the fluid level falls below the
thermistor. The resulting change in thermistor temperature is easily detected by the change in resistance.

Minimum Limit Current:
The minimum amount of current required by the PTC to guarantee switching at the minimum
ambient temperature.
Maximum Limit Current:
The maximum amount of current the PTC must be able to pass without
switching at the maximum ambient temperature. In addition to the PTF resettable fuse products, a series of UL recognized
PTC resettable fuses are also available as special order items. They are recognized under UL file E82830, category XGPU2
(thermistor type devices), the PTU series resettable fuse allows the design engineer to start product design with a UL
recognized component.
