Satellite TV Set Top Box Remote Controller

Sometimes it is not very convenient to use a satellite TV decoding receiver (set-top box). Only one set-top box can be used for one TV. If there are two TVs, two set-top boxes must be installed, and a converter and a dual-output high-frequency head must be installed. Especially when the two TVs are not watched at the same time, it causes a lot of trouble and waste. For this reason, a set-top box controller is made by ourselves, which has the following features:

1. Use outdoor antenna power box for modification, which is more beautiful.

2. Use common coaxial cable to connect and transmit control signals and satellite TV signals without additional wiring.

3. The requirements for the set-top box are not high. As long as it has ordinary video and radio frequency output functions, it can control the viewing of multiple TVs in different locations. Only minor internal changes are required. It will not affect the future use of the set-top box.

4. The production cost is low, and all the components add up to only more than ten yuan.

5. You can use the original set-top box remote control to control the set-top box.

The production process of the remote controller: First, find a normal power box for ordinary outdoor antennas (even if you only buy one for a few yuan). Remove the components related to steering control. Remove the circuit board, solder the upper components of the attached figure to the board, and keep the indicator light, power cord, external antenna socket, TV cable plug, etc. Install it in the power box and install the infrared receiver (the infrared receiver should be the plastic-sealed receiver commonly used in color TVs).

Modification of the receiver (set-top box): Open the machine. First find the output of the RF modulator. Connect a 2.2μF/50V capacitor to the RF output. Connect the other end to the remote control input of the decoding mainboard; at the same time, find the output of the panel infrared receiver. Connect a 2.2μF/50V capacitor between the infrared receiver and the remote control receiver of the decoding board. The modification is complete.

The working process of the remote controller of the set-top box is as follows: first connect the set-top box and the remote controller, connect one end of the 75-5 coaxial cable to the TV dedicated direct plug, and the other end to an audio and video lotus plug. The length of the cable is determined by the distance between the two TVs (two rooms). Plug in various connecting cables, including the end of the coaxial cable connected to the lotus plug into the set-top box RF socket (usually an audio and video socket), and turn on the set-top box power.

Place an offsite controller next to the TV in another room.

Plug the end of the 75-5 coaxial cable with the antenna direct plug into the socket of the remote controller (the external antenna socket of the original antenna power box), and plug the RF output plug on the remote controller into the TV antenna socket. Turn on the TV, and you should be able to receive a clear set-top box signal (transmitted by the set-top box RF modulator through the 75-5 coaxial cable) near channel ll. Plug in the remote controller and turn on the controller switch.

The indicator light is on, and you can use the set-top box remote control to perform remote control channel switching operations. Just point the set-top box remote control at the remote control receiving head of the remote controller. The infrared demodulated signal received by the infrared receiving head enters the remote control input end of the decoding motherboard from the set-top box RF socket via the 75-5 coaxial cable. The set-top box then switches channels, and the 75-5 coaxial cable transmits the RF TV signal output by the modem. At the same time, it also transmits the remote control signal modulated by the infrared receiving head.

The set-top box can also be operated from another room using the set-top box remote control.

It is worth noting that when the remote controller is powered off, the switch on the remote controller must be turned off. Otherwise, it will affect the normal remote control of the set-top box in another room.
