After digital signals undergo long-distance transmission or various conversions in digital circuits , noise may increase and signal quality may decrease. If the pulse signal waveform is poor, the entire circuit will malfunction, so the pulse signal needs to be shaped to make the leading and trailing
edges of the pulse signal neat and short-wavelength. Figure 16-5 shows a shaping circuit unit made using an integrated amplifier. It is essentially composed of an inverting amplifier .
