This thermocouple measurement verification design provides a very simple and accurate way to implement thermocouple measurements. This design outlines the anti-aliasing filters and bias resistors necessary to provide sensor diagnostics. This example also provides a novel way to accomplish cold junction compensation of the system using the onboard temperature sensor on the ADS1118. For thermocouple linearization, this design also provides a very simple linear algorithm that can be implemented on most microcontrollers.
