NE555 is one of the models belonging to the 555 series of timing ICs. The pin functions and applications of the 555 series ICs are all compatible, but the models are different because of their different prices, stability, power saving, and oscillation frequency that can be generated. Not quite the same; the 555 is a very versatile and quite common timing IC. It only requires a few resistors and capacitors to generate pulse signals of various frequencies required by digital circuits.
The characteristics of NE555 are: 1. Only simple resistors and capacitors are needed to complete a specific oscillation delay function. The delay range is extremely wide, ranging from a few microseconds to several hours. 2. Its operating power supply range is very large and can be matched with logic gates such as TTL and CMOS. That is, its output level and input trigger level can be combined with the high and low states of these logic series. 3. The output current is large and can directly drive a variety of automatically controlled loads. 4. It has high timing accuracy, good temperature stability, and is cheap.
