The power supply provides a high voltage of approximately 4,000 volts to the magnetron. Because the stirrer is a fan-shaped metal, it reflects microwaves in all directions when rotated, so the microwave energy can be evenly distributed in the cooking cavity. The power range of microwave ovens is generally 500 to 1000 watts. This heats the food.
