This circuit can be used with a programmed channel selector, just as the audio control signal needs to be synthesized by means of TTL levels. When the gate is closed, the DC offset at the output is negligible, simplifying subsequent stages of design. Use logic 1 (+5V) to open the gate and logic 0 (0V) to close it.
