The circuit diagram of the regulated power supply composed of the L296 high- current switching power supply chip is shown in the figure. It is a 5~15V, 4A regulated power supply composed of the L296 single-chip high-current switching power supply chip . The characteristics of L296 single-chip high-current switching power supply chip are: (1) Complete protection function. It is equipped with soft start, overcurrent, overheating and overvoltage protection. (2) The maximum output current is 4A, the power is 160W, and the output voltage is adjustable between 5.1~40V. (3) Equipped with special functions: work prohibition control, synchronous control (to ensure consistent working frequency when several chips are used for multi-channel output), reset circuit (can provide detection signal of power supply working status), crowbar overvoltage protection circuit (When the output voltage exceeds the preset rated voltage by 20%, a 100mA drive signal is generated to trigger the action of the external protection circuit). Figure (c) shows the current expansion circuit form.
