The DC operating power supply system is one of the indispensable secondary equipment in power plants and substations. Its reliability directly affects the safe and reliable operation of power plant and substation equipment. Many DC operating power supply systems in operation in my country's power plants and substations are still relatively backward and outdated equipment with many defects, which have caused many accidents and caused significant losses. With the popularization of valve-controlled sealed lead-acid batteries, higher requirements are also put forward for the original DC operating power supply system. Compared with acid-proof explosion-proof batteries and cadmium-nickel alkaline batteries, valve-controlled sealed lead-acid batteries have the following characteristics: no maintenance work such as adding water and adjusting acid specific gravity is required, and they have maintenance-free functions; no leakage, no acid mist, no corrosion to equipment, and easy to form a complete set of equipment; small self-discharge current; long battery life, and the floating charge life at 25°C can reach 10 to 15 years; compact structure, good sealing, good vibration resistance; there is no "memory effect" of cadmium-nickel alkaline batteries. However, valve-controlled sealed lead-acid batteries are sensitive to temperature, have strict requirements on charging devices, and do not allow overcharging and undercharging. If outdated charging devices are still used, due to their low voltage and current stabilization accuracy and high ripple factor, the life of the valve-regulated sealed battery may be reduced or even the battery body may be cracked and damaged, thus paralyzing the entire DC system.
