An automotive high-speed quad-channel digital isolator with excellent EMC performance [Copy link]

      The ISO774x-Q1 devices are high-performance, quad-channel digital isolators that offer 5000 VRMS (DW package) and 2500 VRMS (DBQ package) isolation ratings per UL 1577. The devices’ reinforced isolation ratings meet VDE, CSA, TUV, and CQC standards. The ISO774x-Q1 devices offer high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions while providing low power consumption when isolating complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) or low voltage complementary metal oxide semiconductor (LVCMOS) digital I/Os. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulation barrier. The device features an enable pin that can be used to place the corresponding output in a high impedance state in multiple master drive applications, or to reduce power consumption. The ISO7740-Q1 device has four co-directional channels, the ISO7741-Q1 device has three forward channels and one reverse channel, and the ISO7742-Q1 device has two forward channels and two reverse channels. If the input power or signal is lost, the device without the suffix F defaults to a high output level, and the device with the suffix F defaults to a low output level.
When used in conjunction with an isolated power supply, the device helps prevent noise currents in the data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuits. With innovative chip design and layout techniques, the electromagnetic compatibility of the ISO774x-Q1 device has been significantly enhanced to mitigate system-level ESD, EFT and surge issues and meet radiation standards. The ISO774x-Q1 family of devices is available in 16-pin small outline integrated circuit (SOIC) and QSOP packages.
