Shi Wanwen, President of TCL Multimedia Business Unit, delivered a speech at the International Consumer Electronics Industry Forum held recently, saying that the speed of "3C" integration is accelerating nowadays, and the application of "3C" technology in flat-panel TVs is becoming a new standard for people's ideal life in the future. This demand determines the core of the future digital home and will be reflected in the "3C"ization of flat-panel TVs.

It has gone through three stages. The first stage is the market cultivation period of flat-panel TVs, which refers to the stage of transformation from dedicated monitors to home use. During this period, due to the low awareness and high cost of flat-panel TVs, they failed to become the mainstream of the market.

  The second stage is the rapid growth of flat-panel TVs, which means that flat-panel TVs replaced traditional TVs and entered households. Their cost dropped significantly, and more and more consumers began to be able to buy flat-panel TVs. During this period, thin and fashionable became the core of consumers' choices, which was a kind of conspicuous consumption.

  The third stage is the stable and mature stage of flat-panel TVs, which refers to the stage when the mature applications of flat-panel TVs are promoted and become the core stage of digital families. During this period, consumers have a stronger demand for entertainment content, and the increasingly advanced "3C" technology can meet this demand. Therefore, the increasing integration of flat-panel TVs and "3C" functions will become an inevitable choice for digital families.

  At present, the integration of flat-panel TV and "3C" technology is unprecedentedly close, and "3C" flat-panel TV is becoming the core technology of digital home. The core feature of digital home is interactive entertainment. The most typical integration mode we see is the application of wireless communication technology, one of the "3C" technologies, in flat-panel TV products. Currently, Sony, Samsung and TCL have launched products with internal modules. Through a very friendly platform, users can quickly connect to the Internet and watch their favorite content and download the resources they need.

  The trend of "3C" flat-panel TVs not only brings new experiences to consumers, but also unprecedented opportunities for domestic enterprises. This impact will reshuffle the existing global competition landscape. In this regard, Chinese enterprises and international manufacturers are at the same starting point.

  A recent report from the Institute of Market Economy of the Development Research Center of the State Council shows that sales of high-end "3C" TVs in China's market will soar rapidly in the next five years, and it is the product with the most development potential in the next five years. All this shows that the "3C"ization of flat-panel TVs will become a rare opportunity for Chinese companies to catch up with and surpass their competitors.
