Bharti Airtel, India's largest mobile operator, recently announced its quarterly results, saying it achieved outstanding results this quarter thanks to the continued growth in the total number of mobile phone users in the Indian market.Bharti said it had a 22.5% market share in the first quarter and that its total number of mobile and fixed-line subscribers had reached more than 24 million, with the majority of these being mobile subscribers. India's mobile phone market is growing rapidly. Although it has not yet surpassed China in all aspects, it is expected to surpass China in terms of the number of new users per month. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said that India added 4.78 million mobile phone users in June alone, bringing the number of mobile phone users in India to 106 million. India's leading mobile operators are adding millions of mobile phone users every month. However, India's telephone density (number of telephones per 100 people in a certain area) is still only 13.95%. There is a huge difference in this number between rural and urban areas, which are 1.94% and 31.3% respectively.
