On July 5, the State Post Bureau and China Netcom (Group) Co., Ltd. signed a comprehensive cooperation framework agreement, marking the official launch of comprehensive cooperation between the two parties. Zhang Chunjiang, Chairman of China Netcom, and Liu Andong, Director of the State Post Bureau, attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. Feng Xinsheng and Zhang Yafei, Deputy Directors of the State Post Bureau, Zuo Xunsheng, President of China Netcom, and Zhang Changsheng, Senior Vice President, attended the signing ceremony.

According to the agreement, China Post and China Netcom established a strategic partnership and identified three major areas of future cooperation.

The two parties are each other's major customers and will provide each other with more convenient and high-quality services in their respective areas of strength. China Netcom can provide China Post with a full range of communication services such as digital circuits, fixed-line telephones, the Internet, international dedicated lines and video conferencing, while China Post can provide China Netcom with a variety of services such as commercial letters, express parcels, express mail, philatelic products, etc.

The two parties will use each other's advantageous resources to establish cooperative relations in a wider range of fields and jointly enhance their competitiveness in the industry. With its marketing network throughout urban and rural areas and its functional advantages of "three streams in one", China Post acts as an agent for China Netcom to handle various communication services including future 3G, and assist China Netcom in developing markets and serving customers. China Netcom provides strong support for the construction of postal informatization with its advanced technology and fully functional modern communication network, and promotes its business through China Post's commercial letters, mailing advertisements and other services.

The two parties jointly explore the cooperation in developing new products that meet market demand, continuously expand business scope, broaden marketing channels, and improve service levels, give full play to the strong advantages of both parties in their respective fields, and further consolidate and enhance the core competitiveness of the enterprises.

Zhang Chunjiang emphasized in his speech that the cooperation between China Netcom and China Post is not only based on the long-standing deep feelings between the two sides, but also a realistic choice to achieve sustainable development. The signing of the cooperation agreement not only marks that the cooperation between the two sides has entered a new stage of development, but also marks that my country's information industry has been injected with new development momentum.
