Nomenclature and properties of quartz crystals

The model of quartz crystal consists of three parts. The first part uses Chinese phonetic letters to indicate the shell shape and material: S----Plastic shell; B----Glass shell; J----Metal shell;. The second part uses a letter to indicate the cutting method of the quartz sheet: A----AT cutting method; B----BT cutting method; C----CT cutting method; H----HT cutting method; M----MT cutting method; N----NT cutting method; U----Tuning fork bending vibration cutting method; X----X cutting method; Y----Y cutting method. The third part uses Arabic numerals to distinguish the main performance and external dimensions of the resonator. For example: JF6.000 is a resonant crystal with a FT-cut metal shell and a resonant frequency of 6MHz (can be used in microcontroller clock circuits). JA18A----AT cutting method, metal shell and hard-foot resonant crystal (frequency 4.43MHz can be used in color TV). The main raw material of quartz crystal is quartz single crystal. It has extremely high physical and chemical properties. The Q value of quartz crystal resonator is very high, ranging from tens of thousands to millions. Its frequency stability is also particularly good, and it can still work normally under drastically changing environmental conditions. Quartz crystals have a wide range of uses. They can be used in various digital circuits and cooperate with other components to provide standard pulse signals. They can be used in microprocessors to provide clock signals. They can be used in clock circuits, in radio stations, and so on. Figure 1-1 lists the dimensions of three types of quartz crystals.
