DCO stability problem in basic clock module of MSP430 [Copy link]

The DCO frequency can be calibrated and set to a specified frequency by compensating for variations in voltage, temperature, and part-to-part differences. Typically, a slow crystal or external signal can accomplish this by comparing the number of high-speed DCO clock cycles that occur within one period of the slow reference frequency. The base clock control registers can be adjusted with software to set the DCO frequency to a desired multiple of the slower crystal or signal. The device's data sheet details the operating range of the DCO. The MSP430x1xx User's Guide provides detailed information on the base clock. Example code and application reports that demonstrate DCO settings are available through the MSP430 website.
