Why is there always a tsunami in that area? The tsunami in 2005 was very scary. Our neighbor had just returned when the tsunami disaster occurred. We all thought she was lucky.  Details Published on 2006-7-18 09:26

My junior high school classmate, who is only in his twenties this year, got leukemia. When he found out about his illness, his wife was pregnant! We who knew about it were very sad, not to mention his loving family and wife. But a few months later, when I went to see him, I unexpectedly saw his smiling face and calmness. After a while, we attended a dinner party for the baby's full month. We saw that he was very happy to describe everything about the baby to us despite being ill! . . .

In fact, we should face death with a smile. One of my high school classmates was accidentally struck by lightning while fishing. Actually, it wasn’t the lightning that struck him, but the lightning struck a tree, and then the tree trunk fell down and hit him. We were all very sad at the time, and it felt like death was so close to us.

Russian military police shot dead Chechen illegal armed leader Basayev.
Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, July 10. Russian Federal Security Service Director Patrushev reported to Russian President Putin on the 10th that Chechen illegal armed leader Basayev was shot dead by Russian military police in the Republic of Ingushetia on the same day.

According to RIA Novosti, Patrushev announced that in a special operation launched in Ingushetia early that morning, Russian military and police killed Basayev and several illegal armed elements at the same time.

Patrushev said Basayev and a group of illegal armed elements planned to take action during the G8 St. Petersburg summit this month to exert "political pressure" on Russian leaders.

Putin congratulated the personnel who participated in the special operation and ordered to reward all the personnel who participated in the killing of Basayev. He said that despite the killing of Basayev, the Russian military and police must continue to strengthen the fight against terrorist forces and improve the efficiency of anti-terrorism.

Putin is indeed a person who deserves some admiration, but so far, Zhou Enlai is still a noble figure that people cannot forget.

Putin is fluent in German and loves sports, especially sambo, judo and mountain skiing. He won the sambo championship in college and was the judo champion in Leningrad in 1974. He was selected as a candidate for the athlete. He has a tough personality, great endurance, and rarely shows his emotions.

Putin in his youth

Putin led a delegation to visit China as the first deputy mayor of St. Petersburg in 1994. He paid state visits to China in July 2000 and December 2002.

His wife Lyudmila was born in Kaliningrad on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea in 1957. She graduated from the Eighth Middle School in Kaliningrad. She loves drama and cultural and sports activities. After graduating from middle school, Lyudmila was admitted to the Kaliningrad Polytechnic Institute. Because she did not like engineering, she dropped out of school two years later and worked as a stewardess in the Kaliningrad Air Force in the early 1980s. Later, she entered the Language Department of Leningrad State University to study Spanish. She worked as a university teacher in Bryansk, Russia. At the age of 24, she went to Leningrad for a short vacation and met Putin at a concert held there. On July 28, 1983, she and Putin got married on a small steamer on the Neva River. They have two daughters: Katya and Masha.

Chinanews.com, July 16 (CCTV News) According to the news broadcast, due to the influence of the strong tropical storm "Bilis", some places in Hunan, Guangdong and Fujian have experienced heavy rain or extremely heavy rain, and some places have suffered serious floods and waterlogging disasters. A total of more than 8 million people in the three places have been affected. At present, the Ministry of Civil Affairs has launched a level 4 response to natural disasters, and local governments are fully committed to disaster relief.
Affected by the heavy rain, some counties and districts in Chenzhou and Hengyang, Hunan Province were severely affected, and transportation and communications were interrupted. As of 4 pm that day, the rainstorm had caused 78 deaths and 101 missing persons in Hunan Province, more than 20,000 houses collapsed, the water level of rivers rose sharply, and the Dongjiang Reservoir also experienced a once-in-a-century flood.

After the disaster, the main leaders of Hunan Province immediately rushed to the disaster area to direct the disaster relief work. The People's Liberation Army, armed police officers and militia reserve personnel also urgently carried out rescue and relief work. At present, more than 680,000 disaster victims have been relocated and resettled in Hunan Province. The State Council working group has arrived in the disaster area today to guide the local disaster relief work. Food, tents, quilts and other materials are being urgently mobilized and transported to the disaster area.

Continuous heavy rains caused serious waterlogging in Fuzhou and Zhangzhou in Fujian and Guigang and Bobai in Guangxi. Many reservoirs overflowed, large tracts of crops were flooded, and roads, houses, electricity, etc. were severely damaged. The urban area of Zhangzhou suffered from waterlogging, and in some places the water was more than 1 meter deep.Click to view weather forecast for Fuzhou and more cities

Heavy rainfall caused disasters in parts of Shaoguan, Huizhou, Meizhou, Heyuan and other cities in Guangdong. In Huidong County, Huicheng District and other places, a large number of people living in low-lying areas had their houses flooded and were forced to climb onto the roofs to wait for rescue. Soldiers from the Huizhou Border Defense Detachment entered villages and towns to search house by house and evacuate people in batches.

Affected by heavy rain, nine sections of the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, including the Lechang section in Guangdong and the Matianyu section in Hunan, have experienced dangerous situations since last night, causing the interruption of up and down lines. The Ministry of Railways and the Guangdong Railway Group immediately mobilized nearly 10,000 rescue personnel to rush to the scene for rescue; affected by this, most of the trains entering and leaving Guangdong Province via the Beijing-Guangzhou Line today were suspended or detoured, and tens of thousands of passengers were stranded at various railway stations along the line. At present, the local railway department urgently provides drinking water and food for passengers, and opens a special window for passengers to handle ticket refunds and changes.
In addition, due to the flash floods, many dangerous situations occurred in the sections of the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway from Leiyang to Yizhang in Hunan and Shaoguan in Guangdong. This section was closed last night. At noon today, the water-damaged section of the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway in Guangdong was blocked for 18 kilometers, and the traffic police department increased the police force to divert and guide the vehicles. At present, due to the large number of water-damaged areas and the continuous rainfall, the rescue work has added a lot of difficulties, and it is expected that it will take some time for the line to be restored. It is expected that the rainfall in Guangdong, Hunan and other places will continue in the next two or three days.
