Top Ten Outstanding Women in China's Communications Industry [Copy link]

Some people say that behind a successful man, there must be a great woman. But I don't know who stands behind an outstanding woman. In this world, it is difficult to be a man, it is even more difficult to be a woman, and it is even more difficult to be a strong woman. This sentence has been said by many people, but perhaps not many people really understand its meaning. "March 8th Women's Day" is here, and we are launching the report of "Top Ten Outstanding Women in China's Telecommunications Industry" with only one purpose, that is, to let people remember the contributions they have made or are making to the development of China's telecommunications industry. Today, there may be many halos on them, but we should also see the hardships they have paid or the pressure they are currently under. No one can succeed easily, especially for a woman. In China's telecommunications industry, there are many women who work hard for it. On the occasion of "March 8th Women's Day", let us give them applause and say "thank you"! (Ranking in alphabetical order)
Cao Shumin: Promoter of China's 3G Standards In China, when talking about the development of the 3G industry, Cao Shumin cannot be ignored. Because she is the leader of the third-generation mobile communication technology test expert group of the Ministry of Information Industry, responsible for organizing operators and domestic and foreign manufacturers to participate in 3G technology tests. In the period of 3G changes, the Chinese government's 3G development policy is very stable. It does not follow the hype or blindly deny, but actively tracks the development of technology and adopts a pragmatic and scientific attitude. The implementation of this series of pragmatic policies is closely related to the technical support of the 3G technology test results presided over by Cao Shumin. Cao Shumin is indispensable in the development history of China's 3G standards. The chairman of the ITU international 3G standard formulation working group and the person in charge of China's third-generation mobile communication standard research has paid too much hard work for this achievement. In order to make TD-SCDMA an international standard, Cao Shumin and other members of the Chinese delegation have made efforts in the international arena. They have withstood the pressure of foreigners who have tried to exclude Chinese technology several times, and won more and more attention and support from foreign companies for our technology. Finally, TD-SCDMA was officially approved at the ITU meeting in May 2000. At the same time, in the process of integration with 3GPP standards, Cao Shumin, through discussions and exchanges with some large foreign companies, changed many foreign companies from negative to actively support and assist China, and finally made TD-SCDMA become the standard of 3GPP in March 2001.
Chen Changjuan: Vice President from the bottom In February 2004, Chen Changjuan, the former general manager of Guangdong Communications, was promoted to vice president of Netcom Southern Company. This was another job change after Chen Changjuan joined Netcom. Before that, in July 2002, Chen Changjuan was commissioned by Netcom Group to prepare for the establishment of Guangdong Communications Co., Ltd. On December 2, 2002, Guangdong Communications was officially established and Chen Changjuan became the general manager. In this position, her contribution is obvious to all: after more than a year, by the end of 2003, Guangdong Communications had fixed assets of 1.8 billion yuan. Among them, since the basic realization of interconnection in September 2003, monthly income and number of users have shown a strong upward trend, and monthly income and monthly operating cash inflow have reached tens of millions of yuan. This is the Chen Changjuan that people have recently known. However, Chen Changjuan's history is that she has stepped out from an ordinary worker step by step. In 1978, she was just an ordinary worker in the repair factory of Guangzhou Telecommunications Bureau. By 1999, she had been hired as a part-time professor and doctoral supervisor by Sun Yat-sen University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology respectively, and served as the deputy director of Guangdong Post and Telecommunications Administration. During the reform of the telecommunications system, Chen Changjuan served as the deputy general manager of Guangdong Telecommunications Company. Since 1996, she has been responsible for the development strategy and scientific and technological information construction of Guangdong's communication network. During this period, Guangdong's communication industry has achieved unprecedented development: the first national 200 phone cards, the first national visual and listening communication, and the first national business network. Chen Changjuan believes that the major elements for women to succeed in the new economic context are "three new": the first is new knowledge. She believes that academic qualifications are limited, but learning is unlimited; the second is new concepts. She said that concepts determine thinking patterns, behavior patterns and lifestyles; the third is innovation. She believes that innovation is the only way to keep up with the pace of the times. For this reason, Chen Changjuan is called a "three new" woman.
Gong Shuangjin: Dedicated his youth to China's communications industry . He is currently the chief expert of the Telecommunications Research Institute of the Ministry of Information Industry. He is a professor-level senior engineer. He is a member of the Communications Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Information Industry, deputy director of the Science and Technology Committee of the Telecommunications Research Institute, deputy director of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Standardization Association, and chairman of the Interconnection Standard Working Group of the Ministry of Information Industry. He has been engaged in the research of technical specifications in the fields of networks, switching, intelligent networks, and inter-network interconnection for a long time. He has worked in the mathematics teaching and research group of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications for 3 years. He has worked in the research institute system for a long time and has been engaged in the interference research of 330,000 high-voltage protection. In 1972, he participated in the field test of 2109 long-distance automatic switching. In the 1980s, he participated in the project of introducing program-controlled switching in Dalian for the first time, and participated in the introduction of program-controlled switching in Guangdong and Beijing. During his work at the research institute, he was mainly responsible for and researched and formulated technical systems such as rural communication networks, automatic telephone switching networks, digital networks, integrated business digital networks, and intelligent networks. In order to compile the technical systems of rural communication networks and automatic switching networks, he went to more than 40 counties and towns across the country to conduct investigations and tests. In order to meet the needs of the development and introduction of program-controlled switches, a set of general technical specifications for telephone exchange equipment has been formulated, including technical specifications for program-controlled switches, PCM switches, space division switches, and vertical and horizontal switches. In recent years, he has been mainly engaged in the research of intelligent networks, inter-network interconnection standards, "telecommunication network number planning", "telecommunication network technical policies" and next-generation networks. The standards he presided over and wrote include "transmission of inter-network caller numbers", "supplementary provisions for inter-network billing", "technical specifications and test methods for quality of public telecommunications networks", "integrated intelligent network technology system", "equal access overall technical plan", "soft switching technical specifications", etc. Gong Shuangjin's current research areas are intelligent networks, network interconnection between different operators, and next-generation networks and soft switching.
Li Mofang: For China's mobile communications industry China's mobile communications industry has developed rapidly in a few years, and mobile communications are becoming an indispensable way of communication for people. All of this is inseparable from a name, she is Li Mofang, member of the Party Leadership Group and chief engineer of China Mobile Communications Group Corporation. As a member of the mobile communications field, Li Mofang has devoted herself to studying the urgent problems in the communications field for many years. She has published dozens of papers and professional articles in domestic and foreign journals and academic seminars. Her research results have been recognized by domestic and foreign experts and have a great influence at home and abroad. She has a halo on her head: in 1988, she won the first and third prizes of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Science and Technology Progress Award; in 1991, she won the third prize of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Science and Technology Progress Award, and was awarded the "National Science and Technology Achievement Completer" certificate issued by the State Science and Technology Commission; in October 1994, she was approved to enjoy the "Government Special Allowance" issued by the State Council; in 1996, she was named a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions to the country; in 1997, she won the second prize of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Science and Technology Progress Award; in 1999, she won the second and third prizes of the Ministry of Information Industry Science and Technology. At the 2003 Global GSM Conference, Li Mofang won the GSM Alliance Outstanding Contribution Award, becoming the only Asian among the eight award winners. She keenly saw the unstoppable development trend of digital communications and began to work for the development of China's mobile communications. In the early 1990s, when Li Mofang participated in ITU activities, she began to call on relevant departments to pay attention to China's third generation. She hoped to put China's technology into international standards as soon as possible and strive to make breakthroughs in the third generation. Li Mofang is committed to the research and promotion of China Mobile's second-generation mobile communication system to the third-generation system. She has done a lot of work on GSM networking and the implementation of GSM standards in China. She and her colleagues worked hard to move foreign technology to China and truly realize domestic and foreign interconnection.
Sun Yafang: Huawei's chairman who walks in the forefrontAs the chairman and legal representative of Huawei, Sun Yafang is often exposed in front of the media. This Huawei strong woman can be seen in many Huawei activities. However, the industry does not seem to know much more about her than Ren Zhengfei. Sun Yafang is increasingly eye-catching not only because she is the chairman of Huawei, but also because she is regarded as one of Ren Zhengfei's successors. This beautiful and elegant woman has saved Huawei many times in terms of loans. And her influence and understanding of Ren Zhengfei's thoughts are probably unmatched in Huawei. There is one thing to prove it. In 1998, Sun Yafang gave Ren Zhengfei a report and put forward three viewpoints: First, in the knowledge economy era, the way social wealth is created has changed, mainly created by knowledge and management, so institutional innovation is needed; second, let those who have personal achievement desires become heroes, and let those with social responsibilities become managers; third, the foundation for the long-term stability of an enterprise is that the successor recognizes the company's core values and has the ability to self-criticize. Sun Yafang's three views are actually about successors, and these views are not included in the Huawei Basic Law. But it is undeniable that these views were recognized by Ren Zhengfei, who later quoted them in the article "How long can Huawei's red flag be raised?" Today's Huawei is becoming an international company. For Sun Yafang, whether today or in the future, she is still a striking woman in China's telecommunications industry. However, her mystery will gradually fade away as Huawei accelerates its internationalization.
