Avago Technologies, the world's largest non-listed independent semiconductor company, begins operations
On December 2, 2005, Avago Technologies announced the completion of relevant procedures to establish the world's largest non-listed independent semiconductor company. Avago Technologies' predecessor was the semiconductor products division of Agilent Technologies (NYSE: A), which Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Silver Lake Partners announced on August 15, 2005 to acquire for $2.66 billion. The acquisition was officially completed on December 1, 2005.
Dick Chang, president and CEO of Avago Technologies, said, "Our strategy is to use our rich intellectual property, design experience and system-level knowledge to win the market. We will continue to provide customers with innovative products and support customers to stay at the forefront of the market. At the same time, we will continue to improve profitability through a highly flexible and low-cost operating model; we will also play the advantages of the company's independent operation and develop an efficient independent cost operating structure."
Mr. Li Ting, General Manager of Avago Technologies China and Hong Kong, said: "We have been actively expanding our business in the Chinese market and have maintained a good growth momentum. We will continue to deepen our cooperation with Chinese customers and take advantage of the increasingly mature domestic semiconductor industry to provide more comprehensive services to the Chinese market."
