4. Cleaning of LPG cut-off solenoid valve

Follow the safety operation specifications, remove the LPG cut-off solenoid valve, disassemble the solenoid valve, and clean the filter and pipeline.

5. Cleaning of the mixer

Follow the safety operation specifications, remove the mixer, clean the LPG throat and the inner wall of the pipeline with neutral warm soapy water, blow it dry with compressed air and then reinstall it.

Judgment of common faults

When the engine idles unsteadily, it is easy to stall, the acceleration is weak, the gas consumption increases, and the exhaust emissions are unqualified, it is often because the air-fuel ratio tester of some vehicles is installed on the dashboard, which is easy to be pressed by mistake, thus changing the air-fuel ratio when the gas is running, causing system disorder, and the gas air-fuel ratio tester must be readjusted.

When the engine uses LPG and the idle speed is unstable, it should generally be checked first when the engine uses gasoline. If it is also not good, it means that there is a fault and it needs to be eliminated in the factory. If the idle speed is normal when using gasoline, the air-fuel ratio tester can be used to measure or adjust the air-fuel ratio of the mixture. In addition, when the engine water temperature is too low or the LPG quality is too poor, it will also cause poor idle speed.

When the engine is underpowered and the acceleration is weak, you should check whether the intake pipe is unobstructed, whether the hot water pipe of the evaporator is well connected, and the evaporator should be hot when the engine is working; whether the air-fuel ratio tester is out of adjustment, whether a large amount of tar is accumulated in the evaporator; whether the evaporator diaphragm is damaged; whether the LPG quality is too poor, etc.

The reasons for excessive gas consumption are generally: pipeline or valve leakage; engine cooling system failure, low water temperature, incomplete gasification causing excessive gas concentration, air filter element blockage, causing excessive mixture concentration; idle rotary valve damage, etc.

If there is a bad smell of LPG when the engine is not started, you should check the pipeline and joints of the gas cylinder-evaporator-mixer. You can observe the pipeline and joints. If there is white frost (caused by the rapid volatilization of LPG), there is a leak at that place. It is best to use an LPG leak detector or soapy water to find the leak location, which needs to be eliminated in time before use. In addition, if the sealing ring of the transparent cover of the combination valve on the cylinder is lost or damaged, or the ventilation pipe is damaged or falls off, it will also cause the emitted LPG to enter the luggage compartment.

The reasons for serious carbon deposits on the engine valves are generally: frequent use of inferior LPG, a large amount of carbon deposits due to more impurities, frequent starting, often failing to reach normal operating temperature, incomplete combustion, faulty gasoline nozzles, loose nozzle closure, oil dripping, etc.

Due to the differences in the characteristics of LPG and gasoline, there are also differences in the use, maintenance and repair of dual-fuel vehicles. Understanding their characteristics and precautions for use, maintenance and repair will help to better play the advantages of dual-fuel cars.
