## Connect the development board AvaotaA1 provides two ways to connect the serial port output. Because AvaotaA1 requires a DC 12V/2A/5.5-2.1 power adapter to start the system, please make sure the power is on. Method 1: Use the matching TyepC-SUB adapter board + 40Gbps lightning cable + standard TypeC data cable to simultaneously realize the USB serial port output + USB OTG function. The connection diagram is shown below. Please strictly follow the red arrows in the figure below to connect. If they are inconsistent, it will be unusable.  The second method is that we conventionally use the USB to TTL serial port module, and connect the expansion pin position through the DuPont line. Pin8 Pin9 is the system TX RX respectively. At this time, these two pins need to be connected to the serial port RX TX, and GND needs to be connected at the same time. Use the computer serial port tool to open the USB to serial port device node.  ### Confirm the serial device Connect one end of the TypeC cable to the serial port/power supply interface of the development board, and the other end to the computer USB interface. After the connection is successful, the onboard power light will flash. By default, the system will automatically install the serial device driver. If it is not automatically installed, you can use Driver Genius to install it automatically. * For Windows systems, the Windows Device Manager will have an additional serial device at the port (COM and LPT), which usually starts with `USB-Enhanced-SERIAL CH340`. You need to pay attention to the specific COM number behind it for subsequent connection.  As shown in the figure above, the COM number is 35, and the serial port number we will use for the next connection is 35. * For Linux systems, you can check whether there is an extra `/dev/tty<>` device. Generally, the device node is /dev/ttyACM0.  #### Open the serial console#### Get the serial port tool Use Putty or MobaXterm and other serial port tools to develop board devices. * The putty tool can be obtained by visiting the page [https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/](https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/). * MobaXterm can be obtained by visiting the page [https://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/](https://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/) (recommended). #### Use putty to log in to the serial port After downloading putty.exe, double-click to run it, you can see the following interface, refer to the red box numbers as shown below, and follow steps 1 2 3 4 to configure. Please note that **COM96** in the red box 2 represents the serial port device to be connected. Your computer may not be COM96. Please modify it according to the actual situation. Other configurations remain unchanged. Finally, click the red box 4 Open to open the serial port.  #### Use Mobaxterm to log in to the serial port Open MobaXterm, click Session in the upper left corner, select Serial in the pop-up interface, select the port number (the port number COM35 displayed in the device manager above), baud rate (Speed 115200), flow control (Flow Control: none) as shown in the figure below, and finally click "OK". The steps are shown in the figure below. **Note: Flow Control must be set to none, otherwise you will not be able to input data into the serial port in MobaXterm**  ### Enter the system shell After successfully opening the serial port using the serial port tool, you can directly press Enter to enter the shell. If prompted for a login password, you can check the page [http://localhost:3000/linux-manual/avaotaos/os-start](http://localhost:3000/linux-manual/avaotaos/os-start) to obtain it. By default, the username is `avaota` and the password is `avaota`. The username is `avaota` and the password is `avaota`. The username is `avaota` and the password is `avaota`. Password `avaota`
