In the process of human growth, if you want to make progress, you have to keep learning. There are two types of learning: active learning and passive learning.

Compared to the past, there are now a lot more learning materials. I remember that the only way to learn was to read paper books. Now there are also a lot of video learning materials, especially on Bilibili, and many large training institutions have also released a lot of videos.

So, as a newbie or a big shot, what kind of self-study method do you usually choose to learn?

After one month, I will select the 5 people who gave the most thoughtful answers and give them 50 core points each!

Hmm, I searched for the explanations of Zhihu big Vs. If I can explain it in a way that children aged 6-8 can understand, then I have really learned a very good learning method.   Details Published on 2024-6-19 09:29

Let me talk about my little tips and experiences in studying.

Passive learning: If there is anything you don’t understand in your work or life, and you need to look up the knowledge points, write them down in a small notebook immediately. If you don’t remember it, you will forget it in a few minutes. Then you can look up relevant information when you have the chance. I bought a small notebook at a flea market for one yuan each. I bought more than 10 of them. Now it’s been more than 10 years. The notebooks are almost used up. Don’t underestimate this method. It has helped me expand my knowledge over the years. It is a very good learning method.

Active learning: My learning ability, comprehension ability, and memory are all relatively poor, and my school ranking is also at the bottom, but after I graduated and started working, I still insisted on learning. The secret of my active learning is persistence . Others play games, but I don’t play. Others don’t read books, but I do. If others read a book once, I will read it 100 times if I don’t understand it. I will really read a book more than 100 times.

Summary: Many years have passed. With my persistence, those classmates who used to study better than me have been left far behind. They are all smarter than me, but they stopped studying and making progress after graduation. So now, I have a deep understanding of the old saying, "Diligence can make up for one's shortcomings, and one point of hard work will bring one point of talent."

I agree with the above. Active learning is mainly driven by interests and hobbies, while passive learning is mainly for work tasks. But both are the most direct motivation for learning.  Details Published on 2024-6-15 21:43

My personal experience is that if you can't bear the hardship of learning, you will have to bear the hardship of life. When I graduated, I had a low starting point because of my low academic qualifications. My goal was to focus on learning work skills for at least 5 years after graduation. I never paid attention to salary and the like (I wasn't rich. I didn't need to support my family in the first few years after graduation, and I just wanted to support myself). Because the nature of my work is testing, there are many standards involved, so I just read all kinds of materials. As long as there are related professional terms, I will look up the source standards if I don't understand them. Most of them are IEC/EN standards. In this way, my skills have improved, my knowledge has broadened, and my English reading level has also improved a lot.

Among them, one point that must be mentioned is also the point that I feel the deepest: everything should be done early, and studying is no exception.

The reality is that after working for 5-8 years, as the pressure of life (marriage, childbirth, elderly care, etc.) increases, people will lose their vitality and have no energy to focus on work. Even if it is their passion, time is limited after all, and they need to balance work and life. Among them, salary will also become a part of their concern at this time. But any skill needs time to settle, so you must accumulate it in the early stage. Otherwise, it will really be: If you don’t work hard when you are young, you will regret it when you are old.

Therefore, as an ordinary person, active learning and passive learning are inevitable. It just depends on when you will be truly enlightened (or sensible, as the saying goes).

I've been messing around for a while. Today I thought of a direction and looked for some information to study on my own. I want to ask if there are similar implementation solutions for the GPT application (detailed demand design), and if there are any finished open source libraries that can be used, and then look at the corresponding information.

Your learning spirit is worth learning. I agree, but I can't read your book a hundred times. I don't have that kind of perseverance. I have to learn your spirit in the future!

You are too kind. I am a science student who likes Chinese but chooses science. I have to mention that I was confused about why there was no Chinese class in college. I could only choose Chinese as an elective course, and I chose it for two semesters. Due to the pressure of life, I have almost lost my previous interests and hobbies.  Details Published on 2024-6-15 13:08

I personally feel that the most efficient and fastest way to learn is to learn in a targeted manner according to actual products or projects. At this time, the goal is clearer and whether it is books or videos, you can learn unfamiliar field knowledge while solving problems.

Only by studying with a purpose and asking questions can you be memorable and efficient.

Work Study:

When I work in the company, I learn about circuits, optics, materials and some algorithms, and constantly ask my colleagues to read documents and learn.

Spare time study:

Visit forums and join QQ groups, learn from the moderators, read the teachers' replies, search if you don't understand, and participate in activities to gain knowledge.

Interests and learning:

1. I am currently learning basic Japanese. My wife has passed the N1 level and works for a Japanese company, so I want to learn some Japanese so that I can have a simple chat with her, which can also be considered as learning.

2. For programming, I am currently learning Python as a hobby, and continuing my previous part-time work on some projects, I am also playing with crawlers, writing small algorithms, etc. However, I was confused by Rust recently, and I feel it is a bit interesting and has a lot of improvements. I am also looking at godot's game writing stuff recently, which I think is very interesting and I want to try it.

That’s a good point, but the word “enlightenment” is not appropriate here. It can be replaced by “sudden enlightenment”.

I'm so stupid anyway. I only know the 50 kana, but I always forget more than 100 words. I feel really ashamed of studying.  Details Published on 2024-6-16 11:33

I feel the same way,

I feel pain too... I don't have the persistence of the OP...

It is possible to watch it 3 or 5 times, but I have never seen or encountered anyone who has watched it 100 times. I look up to my big brother who rose from a slave to a general!

I'm really dumb, I only know the 50-character syllables now, but I always forget them.

I don't even know a hundred words, which is a shame for my studies.

As a beginner or a master, what kind of self-study method do you usually choose to learn? :

In addition to reading books and watching videos, the most important thing is to do experiments!!!

Nowadays, people pay attention to various study methods. When I was a student, there were not so many theories. But after raising my child, I found that the various methods promoted now are all my previous study habits~~ I am so proud of it, hahaha. I am not a traditional good student. But my grades were still good.

1. It is now called the Feynman Learning Method. I used to be a teacher in the class, responsible for giving lectures and explaining knowledge points to students. In junior high school, the evening self-study time every day was my time to answer questions from students . The problem was that I often didn’t do my own homework. When I was explaining the corresponding questions, I would just demonstrate and explain and then finish them. Questions that no one asked about were often left blank. -_-||, and I was punished by the teacher. Thinking about it, it was too crazy. At that time, I hated studying during the rebellious period. Later in high school, I became honest because my thoughts were more mature.

2. I don’t take notes in class too quickly, I just list the knowledge points and questions. I must listen to the teacher’s words clearly and understand them. It’s useless to bury my head in taking notes. After school or during self-study, I will go through the book to sort out the notes and answer the questions listed in class. At the end of the semester, everyone likes to borrow my notes to read, because they can often hit the same questions.

3. There are many questions in the notes. This involves the third good habit of learning. I can make up my own questions to train my sense of questions. I can usually control my test score within 3 points. I often help teachers to correct papers. It can be said that I corrected one-third of the test papers of junior high school students. Later, I became proficient in some types of questions. I can see where my classmates made mistakes by looking at their wrong answers. I can grasp the common points that are easy to make mistakes.

4. Love to read dictionaries!! This good habit continued into my three years of high school. Every day I would spend some time looking through dictionaries and randomly pick a few words to read. Whether it was a modern, classical, or idiom dictionary, I didn’t really think about it at the time. I just loved reading it and it was very stress-relieving. Now my child is in school, and my child’s teacher asked him to read the dictionary and copy words. I was surprised to find that this was another little trick.

Now that I am an adult, I am still very curious. If I want to know something, I will search for it and learn about it briefly. If I can't do it immediately, I will write it down in my phone's to-do list and learn about it when I have time. But I only learn about it briefly and don't have a lot of time to study.
